Dismissed Soldiers Benefits’ Settled.

Seven senior soldiers who were dismissed from GAF, have been paid their benefits and allowance, Military sources can confirm. According to the source, the payment was done since March 2018.
“The GAF authorities have finally settled benefits and allowance due to us. It was not an easy process to get it through,” one of the soldiers told this reporter.
A pension letter issued to the affected seven soldiers was shown to this reporter indicating their monthly allowance as D1100.
“At least we’ve received our benefits and we now think of opening a new page to support our families including our wives. It’s heart breaking to leave our noble profession and venture into things different from what we were trained for,” the affected soldier told this reporter.
It could be recalled that the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Masanneh Kinteh, issued a discharge letter to Seven Senior members of GAF back in October, last year.

IEC rejects APRC’s Basse candidate after evidence of conviction.

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has rejected the nomination of Pa Amadou Susso, the candidate of the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) in the Basse Area Council (BSAC) in the forthcoming Mayoral/Chairperson election.
In a press release dispatched to The Point, the IEC stated in accordance with Section 49 of the Election Act, that it has rejected the nomination of Mr. Pa Amadou Suso as a candidate for election to the position of Chairperson under the APRC ticket for the Basse Area Council.
“Mr. Susso has not met the requirements to be nominated under the provisions of the Local Government Act 2002.”
On Wednesday, The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) wrote a petition against the candidature of Rambo Jatta, the APRC mayoral candidate for the Kanifing Municipality Council (KMC) Talib Ahmed Bensouda of the United Democratic Candidate (UDP) and Pa Amadou Susso, the APRC’s candidate in the Basse Area Council for chairmanship.
A source that spoke to our reporter on the condition of anonymity said following the petition of the GDC, the IEC’s regional office in Basse on Wednesday requested the case file of Mr. Suso from Basse Magistrates’ Court.
Mr. Susso was charged with stealing by clerk and preparing a document without authority in 2013 while he was working with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Secretariat (ADRS) of the Basse Branch, a person familiar with the matter said.

He was subsequently sentenced to pay a fine of D3000 on count one and D2000 on count two.
“GDC was able to get a judgment copy and writes the copy and then they sent in case a file reference number to the IEC, those IEC requested and referred the court to that case file number of which the court compiles to,” our source added.

Re- Seedy Touray (GID) Corruption Case.

BANJUL, THE GAMBIA—Mr. Insider, my little brother, and class will spare your name for now, while at the immigration department.my brother there is no way you can polish the image of your god father Seedy Touray. It’s a big insult to call the immigration officers Jammeh’s mafia, may be you need to visit a mental health center, to suggest conspiracy theories is a big joke, can you tell us who is fighting Seedy Touray at the immigration department, give us one good reason, secondly you said seedy wants to modernise the immigration, how is he going to do that by encouraging tribalism, nepotism, corruption and sexual harassing his junior officers.
Mr. Insider, you have talked about seedy surviving the traps of killer jammeh, will take you back to memory lane when seedy impregnated miss xxx of the immigration fresh from the immigration training school back in the days, again back to memory lane when seedy was drunk and crash the immigration pickup ,the pickup was a total write off.
Thanks to his friendship with the former killer Jammeh’s interior minister mr Ousman Sonko and former IGP Jesus Badjie nothing came out of it, again thanks to former interior minister of killer Jammeh  Mr. Ousman Sonko when miss xxx mother came to the immigration department to complain to former DG Drammeh about Seedy’s conduct, we all knew who frustrated the old lady from taking legal actions against seedy for his conduct, just to answer to your question how seedy survived the killer Jammeh trap.
Mr. Insider now that thief commissioner Sambujang Badjie is talking loosely, and promised to spare no one if he is charged will see what is going to happen to your god father in this seaport case, if you think you can fool Gambians you having a laugh.mr insider please read seedy’s letter again am sure the letter was not written by your so called killer Jammeh mafia at the immigration, seedy said he discovered the crime since 23 march 2018 what stopped him from sharing the information with anyone at the immigration department, again guess it was the mafias loyal to jammeh who stopped him from sharing the information with the police, SIS , the immigration intelligence or the interior ministry, why wait until 10April,what has seedy done to stop the crime from happening, why did seedy accept cash from commissioner Sambujang Badjie and commissioner Omar Badjie ,again was it the killer Jammeh mafia group who forced him to accept the cash .
Mr. insider like Pa Nderry rightly said on his Tuesday analysis the time should be question. With all honesty seedy should be charged for aiding and abetting the criminals in immigration uniforms.

Seedy Touray; Victim Or Villain!

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA–The rejoinder who advanced conspiracy theories to defend the indefensible Seedy Touray has done more damage to the battered image of Touray. This guy claims to have evidence that would proof that his man is battling a Jammeh Mafia at the immigration. Mafia or no Mafia, Jammeh or no Jammeh, Deputy DG Touray cannot explain away the underlining criminal intent that put the bag of cash in his hands for more than 2 weeks. Answering the following questions would go a long way in minimizing your client’s criminal liability.

First of, we need to establish the chain of custody of monies procured from Visa issuance at Airport, Ports and all border crossings. All monies collected must be deposited into a Bank immediately and if the banks are closed, the Financial Director or his deputy must take custody of the money until the following day, when the money is deposited at a local bank. If this is the chain of custody at immigration, then Seedy Touray’s behavior is both suspicious and dubious. This has nothing to do with Jammeh, his Mafia or his Loyalist; but rather, everything to do with Seedy Touray listening to his greedy heart telling him; “Seedy, this is your share. You would be a fool handing it over”

In my second point, we have to play devil advocate here. According to Seedy Touray’s own letter, the money was collected on March 23rd. But he kept the D700,000.00 until April 11th. This is 19 days later. Seedy is not a Bank or a Safe. Certainly, Seedy is not a watchman. Why would he be carrying that large bag of money around for more than half a month? Why can’t he surrender it to Mr Daddy Lowe, the financial director or his deputy? Yet still, why can’t he take the money to the Bank? Jammeh Mafia did not tie Seedy’s legs to prevent him from doing the right thing with the money. You see my point again; Seedy was battling the demons in his greedy heart, not Jammeh Mafia.
The most damning aspect of this whole saga is the alleged involvement of Seedy’s wife. If the wife is involved, it confirms my original theory that Seedy’s defense is laughable. It is alleged that the wife was involved in sharing the D1.4 million at the ports- (Ground Zero for this crime syndicate). It is plausible to assume that the D700,000:00 secretly delivered to Seedy was his share. This explains why he secretly hid the money from Daddy Lowe, the immigration Financial director. Seedy has no business keeping money. Therefore, from the getgo, Seedy’s motives were corrupt and his defense is bogus.

Is There Any Controversy On The Declaration Of Results Made By The Iec Chairman On 13 April 2018 And The Rectification That Followed?

QUESTION OF THE DAY
The IEC Chairman declared on 13 April 2018, that the APRC won 18 seats and the GDC 23 seats. The figure was later changed, allocating 25 seats to GDC and 16 seats to APRC. FOROYAA considers APRC to be the party that should be aggrieved if any wrong doing is suspected.
Mr. Seedy SK Njie of APRC confirmed that his party has won 16 seats in Council elections and that 18 seats announced by the IEC earlier, was an error.

They have not been deprived of any seat. Counting was done on the spot and they knew the results before it was announced. According to him, the rectification of the IEC is accepted.
Mr. Samba Baldeh of GDC also clarified that his party has won 25 Council seats and that the 23 announced by the electoral body was an error.
“23 was a form of a mathematical error and now that it is put to that, we believe that stops it. 25 seats is the fact and right calculation, but 23 was not the right figure,” said Mr. Baldeh. Hence according to GDC, the rectification of the IEC Chairman is accepted.

This is how matters stand. The IEC and the Inter Party Committee should take stock of the elections which have been held under the new political dispensation and try to remedy any shortcoming so that the Mayoral Election will reflect the implementation of the lessons learnt, to avoid future errors. Those who wish to challenge any of the election results, have thirty days to file election petitions.

Foroyaa has received only one complaint so far, of how the ballot boxes were sealed and the votes were counted, declared and posted, in connection to Jareng Ward. We will keep our readers posted on this developing story.

Gambia: Breaking News: The Prime Suspect In The State House Jammeh Properties Robbery Case Gorrgi Mboob Has Been Reinstated By Adou Boy!

Now it is loud and clear that President Adama Barrow is not interested in combating corruption. Gambia, do you remember the robbery case, which occurred at the State House, in which Jammeh’s cement and other valuable assets were stolen? Guess what? Adou Boy has decided to bury the case under the carpet. His government couldn’t press charges against the accused officers because his loyalists and confidants at the State House have been implicated in that high profile matter.
The prime suspect Gorrgi Mboob, who was interdicted by the police, has been reinstated with immediate effect. Mboob had Commissioner Abdoulie Sanyang and some State House officers on tape. Taking him to court means; exposing the dirty leans of the corrupt officers around our mediocre and clueless president.
Mr. Mboob has been reinstated. The State House cement theft case file has been closed for now—thanks to Adama Barrow’s lack of fortitude to combat graft. Mr. Barrow is definitely retarding national development. He has abdicated his duties as commander in-chief.

This country is being governed by thieves. People around the president are now settling cases out of court. Our law enforcement agents are also being openly disrespected; while some are compelled to execute illegal orders from the president’s family members and surrogates.

As we speak, some GAF officers believed to be loyal to the status quo, are being secretly deployed to the State House. One of Barrow’s trusted aides is behind the secret transfers. We are keenly monitoring developments.

Gambia Ends Dollar Payment For Peacekeepers.

Gambia Army public relations officer Major Lamin K. Sanyang has revealed that a decision has been taken that the country’s military peacekeepers will now be paid in the local dalasi currency instead of the dollar as it used to be.
Speaking to The Point Pa Modou Cham in Banjul yesterday, Major Sanyang explained that the decision was taken because they always face difficulties in accessing enough dollar currency to pay everyone. He said when GAMCOY 19 returned from Sudan’s troubled region of Darfur in 2017, they had serious problems in accessing dollar in the country to pay them.
“A precedent was set during the last 22 years to pay our troops in hard currency but we understand there is a central bank policy that regulates payment in hard currency at home,” he said. He also said that if the troops were to be paid in Darfur, then they will be paid in hard currency but when they are in the country, they should be paid in local currency because all countries pay their troops in their local currencies.
According to him, they came to clearly realise the difficulties after the 2017 episode and to correct it, the ministries of finance, defence and the accountant general briefed members of GAMCOY 21 contingent about the changes of payment before they departed.  “We told them the fact so that before they return they can know that they will be paid in dalasi but using the exchange rate,” he explained.
Major Sanyang further explained that the GAMCOY 20 contingent that just returned last Sunday will not be paid 100 percent in dalasi but will take effect with the GAMCOY 21 contingent. He said the contingent that just returned home will be paid 50% in dollar and 50% in dalasi with the higher exchange rate in the market and that will be the last time contingents will be paid in the dollar currency.
He said the contingent members have accepted the change and GAMCOY 20 will be last to be paid in foreign currency. “What we pay our soldiers is the highest paid rate in the world because some of the countries give their troops half payment.”
