Gambia’s transitional President Adama Barrow has registered his own political party. The party’s name is: The National People’s Party (NPP). The Independent Electoral Commission Chairwoman said the Party has met the relevant requirements to be registered.
The NPP is going to be launched in the New Year.
Barrow was elected into office in December of 2016 after defeating dictator Yahya Jammeh in a disputed election. Jammeh was forced to leave office following the intervention of the African bloc ECOWAS. He now lives in exile in Equatorial Guinea.
