Ousainou Darboe, Lamin Dibba and Amadou Sanneh Fired

 President Adama Barrow has fired Vice President Ousainou Darboe and his two political allies; Agriculture Minister Lamin Dibba and Minister to Trade, Regional Integration, Industry, and Employment, Amadou Sanneh with immediate effect.

A press release from State House said the president was acting under the provisions of sections 70 (5) (a), 71(4) (b) and Sections 70(3) and 71(3) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia.

According to the release, the president has appointed Dr. Isatou Touray, the Minister of Health as the new Vice President. She will continue to oversee the Ministry of Health until further notice.

Mr. Lamin Jobe has been appointed Minister of Trade, Regional Integration, Industry, and Employment, while James Gomez, the Ministry of Fisheries and Water Resources will oversee the Agriculture Ministry until further notice.
